Default The GIMPS Status page is going (gone?) to V5...

http://www.mersenne.org/status.htm

I fully welcome this and see it as a necessary step to getting to V5.

However, for now the link gets me to V5 stats from the V5 test team only.
1. Is this a sign that V5 is very close?
2. Will this status report soon include the complete data from the current production V4 statistics?

Looks like I spoke too soon ... partly.

The stats are there but my account isn't. Is there any reason why I shouldn't re-create mine or will it too soon appear on its own?

Wow! This is a big step for those of us wedded to the old manual way of doing things. I'll miss you LUCAS_V.TXT!!

George, it may be an idea to post to the mailing list eventually with links to the appropriate reports.

You shouldn't need a v5 account to access these pages.

1) This does not mean v5 is very close. It does mean that I am testing my ability to upload all the v4 data accurately as well as to generate status reports that are useful to users. If need be, I can go back to manually generating the old status page.

2) The status report contains all v4 data as of 2 days ago. Once Scott as the v4-to-v5 bridge working, then the v5 database and the status pages will be updated as each v4 result comes in!

Suggestions for improvements to the status pages are welcome.

The new status page does not imply the disapearance of the different result files : factors, pminus1, nofactors, lucas_v, hrf3 and bad. Or does it ?

http://v5www.mersenne.org/ claims an average of 67.58 teraflops over the past month; far faster than the 27 teraflops claimed by www.mersenne.org/primenet

Given that the vast majority of clients are still reporting their results to the v4 server, what is the reason for this discrepancy?

What I was asking is if I need to create a V5 account to see my V4 data ... it appears you answered that in another post in this subforum .... create a V5 account and link to V4.

Well, I am missing it already...
How can we now check that a doublecheck we have run was successful?
Or that someone has successfully DCed an exponent we had previously LLed?
Formerly, it was a matter of checking the latest version of lucas_v.txt, but now?...
Or is lucas_v.txt still around, hiding somewhere in the twilight zone?
Any help would be appreciated.

Try http://v5www.mersenne.org/report_ll

All the info in lucas_v.txt is now in a SQL database. The report_ll lets you get at some of that info. I'll need to add more reports to better search and report the database.

Many thanks, George.
That´s enough for my purposes.
If I understand it correctly, this report is now much more often updated (actually, in near real time) than lucas_v.txt was, isn´t it?
Except, of course, for manually reported tests.
One nice feature would be to filter records using the name of the tester as one of the criteria.

There seems to be a lot of factors that are missing from the results
returned by http://v5www.mersenne.org/report_factors/.

I was checking that the results that I'd reported by e-mail to GW
while doing lone Mersenne hunting were included. When I had reported
a new first factor and an additional factor for an exponent (e.g.,
M 6147139), both factors are returned. When I had reported
additional factors for an exponent with a previously-known small
factor (e.g., M 8002297), the additional factors are not listed.

Is there some reason for this difference? And it might be nice
if the results page showed who had made the identification of
the factor, just as the LL results page does.
