What is the ID chip embedded within? And what other details will be extracted from the chip? How do you know the chip is matched to the person at the keyboard? And how can you trust my scanner? How do you know the scanner is in the keyboard?

In a court filing last month, Google argued that it needed its privacy in an antitrust trial that would spotlight its dominance in online search.
Didn't you get the memo Google? Privacy is dead, apparently.

Oh! Now I get it. Privacy for thee, none for me.

Scott McNeely, 1999: You have zero privacy anyway. Get over it.

Note: almost 25 years ago.

You can't say you weren't warned. If you haven't been paying attention, more shame on you.

Some organizations and individuals have been paying attention and have been taking counter-measures. I have, where they make sense, and there is very strong evidence that you have too. I don't know your meat-space identity but could doubtless find out if I wanted to badly enough. Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.

This may not pertain to civil cases like the present instance, but even doctor-patient confidentiality and attorney-client privilege go out the window for communications entailing a criminal conspiracy between them, or if the patient/client expresses a serious intent to commit a future crime.

Near the end of Nixon's presidency, he and his legal counsel, James St. Clair, resisted subpoenas from the Watergate Committee. There was a cartoon (by Herblock IIRC) of the two sitting together, with St. Clair tearing up a subpoena and saying, "Sure, this looks bad, but it can't hurt as much as actually turning over the evidence."

In the present case, it sounds like Google is resisting "discovery." But at least they're not simply thumbing their noses at the Court's orders. Alex Jones and Rudy Giuliani did that at their defamation trials. In those cases, however, the result was sanctions and default judgements that they were liable.

Jones, Giuliani, and Google may all have been thinking along the lines indicated in the above-mentioned cartoon. IMO it is tantamount to admitting that they are as guilty as sin.

Went to FB to share the eff opt-out link on my biz page (the one referenced in @pluralistic latest thread) and now I have restrictions?
In the link there are some screenshots showing the FB account is blocked.

"For security reasons ..." LOL. Whose security, yours or mine?

It is jurisdiction-dependent but doctor-patient confidentiality is not absolute as you note. In the UK, medics are required to report evidence of past crimes, not just an intent to commit ones in the future. A UK example is strong genetic evidence for past incest.

Dear Inspector Fitzroy, I have across strong genetic evidence of past incest. Here is a list of the individuals involved:
