I have completed a double-check of base S66 to n=25K beginning from scratch. Two missing primes were found:
4629691*66^18805+1 17433798*66^14448+1 Web pages have been updated. This was a decent result and I had expected somewhat worse. This was a base that we originally had extensive problems with either some testing or sieving software or both. I cannot remember which. Initially many small primes were missed (n<10) and I think later on tests were removed from sieving that should not have been. We discovered which k's had problems and started over on them but my primes and k's remaining files were a mess so I didn't feel very confident about it. With n=50K being a goal for the base this year, the time had come to make sure we are on the right track. We are and now my files are cleaned up. With only k=5M-10M being worked on currently by SRBase, no work has been wasted this year. There was only a little additional work done previously for the one k<5M that had previously been searched to n=100K. Sieving is ongoing for k>10M. I removed k=17433798 and posted an updated sieve file on the page. Currently it's at P=800G headed towards P=3T and should be done by about mid-April. |

R80 is complete to n=500K; no primes were found for n=400K-500K; 2 k's still remain; base released.
Karsten previously found one prime in this range at n=423715. |

I have completed a double-check of base S79 to n=25K beginning from scratch. No problems were found.
This was an excellent result. This one had the same type of problems as base S66 when we initially ran them. Verifying these two bases clears a good path for two of our goals this year. Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2023-04-16 at 10:58 |
