Major software upgrade.
We just installed a major forum software upgrade. If you notice anything weird, besides Ernst's bizzare fascination with The Hoff, let us know.
Supposedly there are all sorts of new goodies with this upgrade. We haven't found anything yet. If you find something cool let everyone know. We've been told the new software runs slower, so we've set the default view to 25 posts per page. If you want more go into your User CP and adjust the relevant setting. It's somewhere in there. Once we're sure the forum is stable we'll revert to the usual 100 posts per page.

No graphical banner/logo "MersenneForum" on the home page.

Most of the changes to the forum are, unfortunately, hand (?) coded by entities who refuse to comment their work. So, when a major upgrade comes through that has a lot of template changes, we are stuck trying to figure out what got changed. Usually it is simpler to just revert everything back and fix things as people mention them. The gerbils think it is funny to obfuscate their code so we've given up on trying to figure out what they have done.
Some parts of the system are stored in global variables so they survive the upgrade. Anyways, if something else seems amiss just let us know and we'll try to fix it. |

Script has Stopped Responding
I often get a message box that a script has stopped responding on this page. Stop Script or Continue?
My standard browsing machine is an ancient P2 180Mhz that also throws Flash errors with regularity - that may be relevant. William |
