Recall work is generally done by dealers free of charge. Hmm, an ID number, numbers make the world go 'round, let's see here... <Google google> Ahh, emissions control, not safety related. The R1720 Emissions Control Campaign Bulletin, shown here, says

Q. Is there any charge for this repair?

A. No, the remedy will be performed for the customer free of charge for parts and labor.

Yes, of course there is the inconvenience of your car being in the shop. There is more in the bulletin about how long the job should take (an hour), etc.

I hope you didn't have to go through the Takata air bag recall. Some folks had to have the air bags replaced twice, because the first replacement air bags were also defective...

Not "too serious", but perhaps "too literal." I failed to imagine the notion of a "play on acronyms."

This reminds me of the old screwball comic strip "Smokey Stover." Its creator Bill Holman drew marginal scenes just for the sake of making puns.

In one of these, two characters were bartering, telling each other, "Good trade!' and "Nice swap!" The items being exchanged were a butter churn and a sausage. The scene was entitled, "Taking a churn for the wurst."

Not sure whether I mentioned this here, but over in La Palma, we sort of adopted a ginger tomcat whom we named "Cake".

Subsequently a pregnant cat moved in. She is Victoria. When her kittens arrived they were called Parkin, Simnel and Eccles.
