2019-04-24, 08:16 #23 kar_bon     Mar 2006 Germany 2·1,433 Posts Added a template to create a link to some fora by giving a thread/post ID. Example: The Williams sequence 4*5^n-1. Supported fora: - MersenneForum.org: default, only post ID needed others need a coding character and thread/post ID to differentiate: - Free-DC forum: "F##" - PrimeGrid forum: "P##" - NFS@Home forum: "N##" Examples are given in the template. So every post of MersenneForum with historic data can be presented in the history section of any prime sequence in the Prime-Wiki. Perhaps other templates other than "Checked to..." or "Found n=..." are and other fora or sites are possible. Last fiddled with by kar_bon on 2019-05-15 at 13:34 Reason: typo

I have tables here
https://oeis.org/wiki/User:Charles_R...special_primes
but I would hesitate to suggest my names as as 'official', though I've tried to stick to the straight and narrow. (Also I think only a fraction of these would be of interest to you.)

2019-04-26, 09:30 #25 kar_bon     Mar 2006 Germany 2×1,433 Posts I've included the ability to store (Generalized) Woodall primes n*bn-1 (b>=2, n>=1 in the Wiki). - the Woodall primes in original with history and Top5000 links or links to internal Riesel primes - the table for a quick overview generated automatically as usual - bases without any prime so far will be catagorized in a special category (for b=179 there's only n=2 up to n=250k) Some primes are quite hard to realize as a Gen.Woodall, see b=4. Maybe the pages should link to the tables?

Done.

2019-05-03, 12:05 #28 kar_bon     Mar 2006 Germany 54628 Posts New template Infobox Person: displaying some data in a separate box on the right side of a person page. - some personal data - web data like users from other projects/fora - sorting and categorizing automated (generated from page name) - if no real name available use nickname (page name in brackets) - special sort key if needed (like names with special characters) Some examples: - me - Fermat - Chief of GIMPS Further links could be added, like: - GIMPS account - email Advantages: - creating further tables/queries - history of prime pages with given contributors -> reservations available on person page (generated, see mine) - no need to be a user of the wiki, but available, too Suggestions?

I don't like the email address for those that are not open to it.
You should look at George's current wikipedia entry. I recently added a few things. I found something on the interwebs and then explored wikipedia some to confirm things. Then I edited his page and a few others that relate to him.

2019-05-04, 08:40 #30 kar_bon     Mar 2006 Germany 2·1,433 Posts Sure, there will no data shown in the Wiki, that are not available on any other page in the net. I thought if anyone should join the Wiki and want to give his email on such person page, the ability to do so should be there, too. So only inserting a parameter like "Email" to fill in if needed. Another topic is to 'cipher" the email to avoid bots easily extract them from such pages. As registered Wiki user there's an email entry in the personal preferences which can be used to send emails to other Wiki users. This email is also not available to others.
2019-05-11, 02:13 #31 kar_bon     Mar 2006 Germany 2·1,433 Posts I've created a page for the Twin Prime Search from data here. - list of primes (ASCII file) - list of checks for twins (ASCII file) - image can be updated by uploading like normal images. If ASCII files are too big, ZIPs can also be used or even PDFs.
2019-05-13, 15:04 #32 kar_bon     Mar 2006 Germany B3216 Posts New: Table for Williams primes (b±1)•bn±1 with - links to categories - links to the list tables of the four types - files for smallest n-value of bases ≤1024 Just only uploaded those ASCII files, but have to be categorized in the file category. This should be done later perhaps with a template. Clicking the file link will lead to the file, if logged in new files can be uploaded, old files can be deleted (history see next). ToDo: create an own pages for any type to show remaining/open bases without any values found so far and the history. And not yet included: - found yesterday 362*363^142876+1 is prime (365752 digits) Last fiddled with by kar_bon on 2019-05-14 at 13:03
2019-05-14, 13:19 #33 kar_bon     Mar 2006 Germany 2×1,433 Posts A table for all types of Williams primes with links to the category, the data tables and the files with smallest n-values are moved to the main page of "Williams prime" (not the category anymore), because a search will first lead to this page. More pages to come, much to do further, statistic is growing.
