Hello
Im new to this and i run a few PC more or less 24/7 sometimes only 24/5. I run now since a few days and the Efficiency of my PC is still at 0. When does Prime95 communicate with PrimeNet? (see attachment) Second question: I changed the Work type for one machine to ECM manually over the Webinterface. Does this update the machine automatically, IF Yes, when? because now it seems there is no Work assigned to this machine. I run Prime with all the standard settings except nighttime and RAM, those two i adjust since some of the machines have 16 or 8 GB RAM and Prime can use a lot more especially at night time. Thank you for your answers and Best Regards from Vienna/Austria 3mg4 (EMGA) PS English is not my native language, please excuse any mistakes in spelling or grammar, I promise i will get better;-) Last fiddled with by 3mg4 on 2016-03-19 at 09:20 |

I believe that the default is for Prime95 to contact PrimeNet once every 24 hours. This can be adjusted in the program settings or by making an adjustment to the appropriate line (the DaysBetweenCheckins setting) in prime.txt. That said, however, it is best to leave that setting alone and allow Prime95 to "phone home" every day. Quote:

Yes, 256 MB of RAM, thanks. Early versions of Prime95 would default to 8 MB of RAM, but as far as I can tell, that is no longer enough RAM to successfully run an LL test. I have two 7xM LLs running right now on a quad-core, each test using two cores, and the memory usage by Prime95 per Windows Task Manager is 124.5 MB.

I have long felt awkward about the word Efficiency since when I believe Madpoo coined it; which at the time I last raised an eyebrow and comment was better than the other ad-hoc nomenclature first substituted during a site refresh.
Apparently it is more of a rate of completed work versus believed capacity of registered recently active equipment, or something similar. Nothing to do with produced work results versus energy consumption. |

At least one of your CPU's (the Xeon) did not (or can not) contact the server : you should check if that machine can connect. If it is behind a proxy you can configure that via the GUI or by editing the configuration files with the help of the documentation provided in the text files.
