Charlie Daniels, country music legend and recipient of numerous awards
https://www.foxnews.com/entertainmen...els-dies-at-83
A sample of his work, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_XGnxTi-fE or in concert with video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBjPAqmnvGA
or decades later, this hit was still a crowd pleaser https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7p817ErVsQ

No. The point is, can the reader gleam the context just by looking at the URL without going to the linked page. So youtube URL is useless for that purpose.

But the fox new URL is helpful, to wit: "Country music legend Charlie Daniel dies at 83"

In addition to axn's post, a youtube video of a concert does not give Obit type info: what did they do in addition to the video, how old, analysis of their life.

Someone I know from another forum posted this about CD (edited):

Charlie Daniels died. People [are] posting tributes...
...[H]e was a Bigoted Racist man whose idea of America was White Straight Christians. I had an email exchange with him years ago based on one of his soapbox blog posts when he called all queer people pedophiles. Pretty disgusting human.

“To tell you the truth, I am sick and tired of politics.” https://www.thewrap.com/charlie-dani...rbic-rhetoric/
Me too.
His open letter here is a good read. https://www.charliedaniels.com/soap-box?b_id=3339&pg=4
Photo of him with Sam Moore in Mike Huckabee's writeup about Daniels; Sam's expression seems inconsistent with the anonymously quoted claim of racism. https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/fare...-mike-huckabee

A lot of Charlie Daniels' expressed political beliefs were heinous. However, there is a nontrivial segment of the US population that revered his musical talents. Growing up, whenever The Devil Went Down to Georgia came on the car radio, there was an immediate stop-everything-all-conversation-ends-now-listen-to-this-song vibe. Very few songs ever got that treatment.

Most people with ugly views and personalities of one kind or another never create anything positive during their time on earth. The ones who do leave us with something worthwhile, which brings people joy, perhaps we should consider that a blessing.

Perhaps the prototypical example is classical composer Richard Wagner - long after the person and his ugly views is dead and gone, we can ask "is the world in some way better for his having lived?" Of course there might be a lively debate between those who are fans of his monumental Nordic-legend-themed operatic works, and those who aren't. :)

There's a post on Reddit saying that Ronald Graham (the namesake of Graham's number) has died: https://old.reddit.com/r/math/commen...his_evening_at

However, I couldn't find any reliable sources to corroborate this.
