What version are you using? If it is v30.8, it is an issue. Have you tried looking up the status of the number in question? If it has been assigned for a CERT, PrimeNet has been able to process it in part. If it has been verified, it is all good.

I'm using mprime v. 29 something. I'm not at that machine. I see what I can make of the situation with the new info. How do I make a new proof file if it's corrupt. just delete it?

Never delete anything. Create a "temporary" directory somewhere, and just *move* what you want to delete there.
Later on, you can always move it back if the mood changes. When everything is fine and verified, then you can finally delete the "temp" dir. |

PRP proof capability was introduced at V30 in mprime.
https://mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=25823 See also the whatsnew.txt for mprime. Last fiddled with by kriesel on 2022-05-11 at 13:59 |

I'll have to verify the version I'm using on that machine. Maybe that could be an occasion to upgrade to the latest version on all the PCs I use. Also, thanks for the idea to simply move a questionable file out of the way, rather than delete it.

A possibly problematic p109351679 can become was-p10935167 Proof files in the prime95 directory though can require more care, because it will repeatedly try to upload them if the filetype remains "proof". Maybe rename type instead to oddpruf. I use something similar with gpuowl; various misspellings of "was" can allow for accumulating multiple possibly corrupt interim save files that can be renamed back into play later if need be, or saved for possible transmission to Mihai for debugging examination. Sometimes on resume after a stop, a given file will repeatably result in multiple EE & program halt, while the preceding save file allows resumption. Code:
05/11/2022 02:27 PM 95,525,967 764207281-old.owl 05/11/2022 02:52 PM 95,525,967 764207281.owl 04/12/2022 02:17 AM <DIR> proof 04/02/2022 08:09 AM 95,525,967 was764207281.owl Last fiddled with by kriesel on 2022-05-11 at 22:38 |
