I have voted yes: because it is a nice little phun project to do.
I know, you won't get credit as other projects.

If someone comes up with a project idea, it's guaranteed that someone somewhere will want to run it.

I bet there would be people who would buy quad-cores to run a project called BOGOMIPS@Home.

That being said, people should crunch what they want to crunch. Maybe the forum should be archived, but leave the threads unlocked.
