Well good luck with that idea, but you might really need more grunt to finish jobs in good time, rather than have them expire.
I don't pretend to fully comprehend the category rules; I work in a way to distance myself from such, just too much nuisance for my liking.

Default What is special about 141145141?

I am in a mixed Chinese situation, but your fascination for that exponent eludes me.

I don't know about your special lucky exponent.
Would you care to describe the attraction?
Bear in mind that with the equipment as described, there is little chance of fulfilling the mission in any suitable time.
Sorry for that aspect of disappointment.

The number 114514 is just popular among Chinese teenagers. Maybe because its pronunciation in Chinese is similar to some word in Japanese("better world would come?") I don't fully understand. But the number M141145141 looks really amazing.

Certainly I know. I have a machine that is much faster and could finish it in less than 3 weeks. If it's about to fall in category 2 (which takes years, probably 2024), I'll switch the work to the fastest computer I have. I have not let a single assignment expire since I joined GIMPS.

Most of my friends are ex HongKongers, though I have very limited grasp of Cantonese, yet void of Mandarin.
Some of those families escaped the mainland and retain nasty stories of the Japanese invasion of China.
All the best with long job exponents, and I also don't recall letting one slip beyond expiry, which was a hazard to negotiate prior to my last (and likely final trip to China) also Macau and HK.

p.s. I recall that the stain of a an expired assignment can be dissipated if the exercise is completed and lodged prior to reassignment.

In one week it has not even progressed 0.1 percent point. Assuming (in your favor) it was 0.15 % a week ago and now it was 0.2499 % (which both should get displayed as 0.2 %), the ETA would be Christmas 2040…
