According to news reports, the Antonov An-225 cargo plane, the largest in the world, and the only one of its kind, was destroyed by the Russians during their invasion of Ukraine.
It was the subject of a Modern Marvels episode (45 minute YouTube video). |

You are correct, they most likely by design wanted Russians to sign it. That is why it is not duplicated (e.g. at the bottom) in other languages. EDIT: maybe if you don't feel involved with the matter - but happen to know someone who might be the right group (some other crazy Slavs ![]() It is also entirely correct only to sign (or share) in informed manner, for sure. (At the hospital much effort is put forward for consent to be as required - an informed consent.) |

Antonov (and his construction bureau) are so famous that the whole airport is actually called "Antonov" (near Hostomel) (GML). |

_________ A propos, my brother in law asked me to translate an extremely dense manuscript that he prepared; it is about surgical oncology. I decided that I will first google translate and then will correct all special terms (with lookups into special literature) for a week. No! i was blown away - it was nearly perfect. You also now can even submit Word documents - and they return as Word documents. Google steadily makes progress. Kudos to them. |

There are news reports about Maxar satellite images showing a huge Russian convoy of heavy weaponry - hundreds of armored personnel carriers; tanks; artillery; support vehicles - stretched out over 25 kilometers and closing in on Kiev (Kyiv).
It does not fill me with optimism that the convoy has already gotten so close, apparently largely intact, with so much firepower. Earlier news reports indicated that the Russians had already brought in "thermobaric" bombs. These are huge fuel-air bombs that can smash large areas. The Russians practiced with them during their adventure in Syria, flattening a large part of Aleppo. When the Russians "pacified" Chechnya, they pretty much destroyed the city of Grozny. |

It says a million words about his state of mind. https://www.npr.org/2022/02/28/10834...k-economic-tur |

It is very difficult to make sense of the reflections on the TV screen:
https://twitter.com/maxseddon/status...808777/photo/1 Shouldn't the reflection of the 2 men be on the left of the camera? ETA: neverminded . The reflection is from the camera on the end of the table. Last fiddled with by a1call on 2022-03-01 at 01:24 |
