Default what does the 64bit version get me?

Is there any advantage to running the 64bit version?

I've heard that it makes integer based programs run faster but I know that prime95 is a oddball in the sense that it uses very precise numbers

I assume that like unlike gpu computing it must do something or George wouldn't have made a 64bit version.

(windows 7 pro 64bit)

The 64 bit version is about twice as fast at trial factoring. As of version 25.9, it can also be about 10% faster on other work depending on the CPU.

It uses additional 8 SSE registers from the 64 bit cpu register sets.
