I thought one of the perks of V5 was that it gives you the lowest numbers to the highest producers or something like that

6620 remaining.
2956 reduction since Apr 22 (almost 800 in the last 35 days) 30.87% cleared. With the 10M found and with technology not quite ready to complete a 100M in reasonable time I would like to help clear up this gap. Is waiting and watching for expirations in this range my only option? Last fiddled with by petrw1 on 2008-10-01 at 16:34 |

No. I wrote a small program that extracts the exponents from the v5 server files that have LL tests done on them of which none have errorcode 0. You can check that list against the v4 assignments and you will find most of them are not being worked on. If you would put such a list in Lone Mersenne Hunters you could work on them with some other folks.

Can you also explain why near the low end of LL testing another 100 or so LL tests appear available every year or so ... for example on page: http://www.mersenne.org/primenet/status.shtml the ranges 180x to 185x currently are mostly over 100 (they were near zero earlier this year) and I suggest that sometime soon another 100ish will appear for the rest of the 18x ranges. Are these the same exponents you are referring to? Last fiddled with by petrw1 on 2008-10-01 at 20:34 Reason: last line |

I'm usually up at 2-3am EST when the script runs, so I could reserve a bunch of them for you (if you're not going to be awake then). Easiest way would be for you PM me your user name and password, so I could use the manual reservation page to reserve them under your account. If you're not comfortable with that, I could reserve them under my name and let you "poach" the tests through LMH. It might also be possible for you to put the appropriate lines in worktodo.ini and do a manual communication shortly after I unreserve the exponents to reserve the tests. I've only tried that method on exponents the server expired, not tests that other users manually unreserved (it should work if unreserved exponents go immediately back into the work queue). |

No, I am referring to the column LLERR on the page http://v5www.mersenne.org/ which happens to be messed up today due to a formatting error, these are not the same as the ones on the v4 server. |

3491 reduction since Apr 22 (and one is mine!!!) 36.46% cleared. ** I no longer have an "assigned report" so I cannot tell in the 33M range which are >33,219,xxx; though in the past it has been <10 |

Error-free but unverified LL tests on exponents below 33219280 grouped by completion date range:
Code:
2008-04-23 to 2008-04-30: 314 2008-05-01 to 2008-05-31: 577 2008-06-01 to 2008-06-30: 682 2008-07-01 to 2008-07-31: 636 2008-08-01 to 2008-08-31: 223 2008-09-01 to 2008-09-30: 927 2008-10-01 to 2008-10-31: 571 2008-11-01 to 2008-11-30: 499 2008-12-01 to 2008-12-12: 93 -------------------------------- 2008-04-23 to 2008-12-12: 4522 Leaves us with 5054 tests to do - 266 days worth, at least (we're slowing down). |

Based on my method I am at 5,665 vs 5,054 for CKDO.
A drop of 420 since Nov 3. I simply add up the LL-ERR and NO-LL columms from: http://www.mersenne.org/primenet/ Again no longer having an assignment report I can't tell for sure how many of the 33M range are less than 33,219,280 but in the past it was virtually all of them. Slowing down here too .... EXCEPT .... George just released all the low LL tests As well he only assigns low-end tests to "preferred" CPUs. http://www.mersenneforum.org/showpos...99&postcount=9 so there is no reason why this number shouldn't drop QUICKLY now.
