I did experiment with Throttle=90, and it helped. I don't have as much of a problem now. I cut P64/P95 back to five cores so mfaktc and cudalucas can use the sixth. Photoshop seems to run OK now. I haven't done exhaustive experiments to see if it is slower with or without P64. There never was a problem in XP-32, but I mostly run Photoshop in Win7-64.

cudaLucas doesn't need much of a core, it plays well with P95 even on full bore...that one is all on the GPU, and the CPU just does the save files....

It just proved easier to make both 64 and 32 bit instances have the same number of cores, since they both work on the same assignments. Besides, in Win7 it greatly improved my Photoshop behavior.

One day many years ago I observed slowness, when P95 running as service. I don't remember details. I had deinstalled service and made launch via Startup folder.
