Default Huge temporary increase in PrimeNet activity

Does anybody know, or can anyone figure out, what accounts for this spike in PrimeNet activity between 48 and 72 hours ago?

someone posted something ( which I can't find now) that said they had 10 computers running including a GPU I believe and had something like 1 Thz day of work done could that explain it at all ( oh never mind that's only 1000 GHz days or so) ?

If I'm reading the graph right, it looks like PrimeNet activity actually doubled (from ~75 to ~150 TFLOP/s) for that specific period! Could one guy with 10 PCs and a GPU do as much as everybody else combined?

well considering GPU to 72 has many GPU's I'm guessing no especially since the GPU was described as ancient.

There are some users who moved up more than 100 places in the Overall Top Producers list, in a possibly plausible time frame. For instance:

Code:
325 Jacques Molné & André Pujol 5271.792 |297 51 | 30.7 57.3 9.0 0.1 2.8
Is it possible that a confluence of multiple user results could explain the spike? Synchronicity, and all that? In the above 297 is the 7 day increase in position.

You can customize the top producers report to the last 4 days:

http://www.mersenne.org/report_top_5...&B1=Get+Report

Someone turned in 33,000 Ghz days of factoring.

Default Top Producers March 22-today

Code:
  1 Piepen 33039.011 | +11 +516 +589
  2 curtisc 29457.099
  3 ANONYMOUS 13002.867
  4 nucleon 10340.680
  5 Xyzzy 5563.146
I don't believe that is enough to explain such a spike, is it?

Just noticed ATH beat me to the punch.

That should be enough to see a noticeable blip here:

At first glance I can't see any such blips that are out of the ordinary.

For example 33,000 could account for:
-almost 2.5 million cleared in the 800M range from 64-66 bits.
-2,000 in the 55M range all the way from 68-72 bits
-1061 all the way to 67 bits
