Default More TACC resources for NFS@Home

Hi all,

I’m in the process of getting more TACC cluster resources for the post-processing but I’ve been requested details of collaborator in the U.S. who is eligible to be a principal investigator (a researcher or a faculty member at a U.S. institution). I know Greg has a special grant for this but I was wondering if you Curtis could be the point of contact for the future “grant”.

The TACC contact has been very friendly indeed and I don’t want to miss this chance of having even more resources onto the 16e post-processing, that’s why I’ve decided to make this public. Bob Silverman has also been a support on this endeavour.

In the meantime TACC has launched https://boinc.tacc.utexas.edu/ for the case people want any volunteer support on calculations.

Looking forward to receiving any feedback.

Carlos

Sure, I'm interested; but there's a bit of an asterisk concerning my professional situation which I'll PM you about.

Perhaps a bunch of nodes can be assigned to NFS@Home clients for 15e or 16e, at least on a temporary basis.

Is this the right direction of the provision of services?
It appears that TACC wants to run their stuff on your home computer. Not the other way around.

The TACC boinc website is another subject which was shared to me by the person I’m dealing with for the cluster access. This is just for the case someone wants for example to create an account there as a researcher and feed the boinc with tasks. Basically this is for small tasks. There’s a tutorial explaining everything in there.
