I'm afraid of chimpanzees.
I like marmosets.

At risk of going further off topic, that's mostly true - However, losing most bodily hair would not have been evolutionarily advantageous, if all our ancestors had to chase down were berries and leaf buds.

The resourcefulness and artifice of human hunters are also unmatched in the animal kingdom since long before recorded history. Wolves picked bison off one by one, human hunters chased them en-masse off a cliff.

Just try to eat a cow or a sheep next time you see one without the use of any tools.
Tool-use, tool-making, and fire-use in human ancestors predated anatomically modern human by an order of magnitude in terms of years before present. Those were, among other things, used to hunt, cook, and eat the ancestors of modern cow and sheep.

That's not to say modern human had to submit to the lifestyle of those ancestors, though! Modern human had long domesticated those for milk and wool, which are acceptable to many vegetarians - and meat which is, by definition, not.

Dr Naik suggests vegetarians consume four glasses of milk a day in the following ways: Drink one glass of milk, have a bowl of yoghurt along with lunch, down a glass of buttermilk around evening, and drink another glass of milk before bedtime.
That's almost enough milk to hydrate, not to mention the calories, and expense...?

I have no problem with vegetarians. Vegetarians eat vegetables.

It is humanitarians that worry me.

We have toyed with the idea of trying a fruitarian diet.

This is a great idea.
The fruit is the ideal food and is the result of the evolution of plants. The fruit is the payment that the plant pays for the logistics of its seed to the carrier.
And so that the carrier came again and again, lived a long time and passed on the skill of eating the fruit to his offspring - the plants worked hard to create it properly, so that it was tasty, nutritious and useful.

In my opinion, the causes of body hair loss are of a different nature. You know :)

The San or "Bushmen of the Kalahari" have an unusual distribution of body fat which allows for better heat dissipation than more common human body fat distributions. The San sometimes practice cursorial hunting, AKA persistence or endurance hunting. A superior cooling system gives the human being an advantage. Other animals can run much faster, but a human hunter can just keep coming after its prey, forcing it to keep moving until ultimately it is too exhausted to flee.

One group of people which has had an animal-based diet since time immemorial is the Inuit. Other Arctic peoples also eat mainly animal-based diets. They need calories, and plenty of them!

With them, loss of body hair may not be as advantageous as with people who dwell in hot climates.

It seems that the presence of hair in the body has nothing to do with the climate.

Colder climate does not imply fewer hairs on your body, but more hair will definitely help you in colder climate. For example goose bumps are a reaction of the body to amplify the body's isolation by simulating a thicker coat (I mean simulating more hairs, I'm not sure about the exact vocable).

Apparently, organutans freeze in the tropics much stronger than other primates.

And polar bears in the Arctic are too hot, so their fur is white to reflect the rays of the sun and they did not get sunstroke :)
