Many of the missing primes for n=100K that I had already found will be corrected in the next month. I had to wait for Michael Hartley to uncomplete them for the people who originally completed the range and then wait another 2 months for them to get in expired status, which most of them will be by the end of April. Most of n<100K should be corrected by the 2nd week in May. Any range that someone missed a prime in and didn't correct will be expired by Mike, reserved by NPLB, and completed by NPLB. This will have the effect of removing a range completed by someone else and giving it and a prime to us. Moral of the story...do your ranges right or correct them or you lose credit for them. Gary |

PS: the last one without new completed ranges so far. Last fiddled with by kar_bon on 2008-06-08 at 21:34 Reason: PS |

I'll be going on vacation from June 28th to July 5th. I hope to be able to get on mersenneforum at least once a day, but I won't have any access to my LLRnet processing tools and whatnot. I'll be sure to make sure everything on that front is all up-to-date and ready to go before I leave.

my vacation begun 2 days ago and ends on 07.Aug (perhaps 2 weeks longer, don't know yet).
so the stats for the race have to wait some more days. i need the results from L6 only and i'm able to compile them the next days. sorry for the delay and much success on finding more primes! karsten Edit: i got the results per mail from Anon yesterday, thanks. so i can make the stats now. hello to all,
i got some problems to login via ftp on www.rieselprime.org (mailed Adam). i got my own account on a german server and uploaded all files like on Adam's account so there should be no difference in use. so please look (during my vacation or since problem is solved) at www.rieselprime.de! i compiled the stats for our last rally (finally!) and updated some other pages (team drives, 300<k<2000 and other small updates). more to come. the last edits from this forum are from 2008/07/06, because i have do download the pages, compile the updates and than upload all pages. some days between this. sorry for the delay thanks Karsten |

Bruce has kindly dedicated a good portion of his substantial computing power to sieving NPLB's next attack: k=401-1001 for n=600K-1M.
The new goal now is to complete drives 1 and 3 to n=600K by Oct. 31st and that is when Bruce is shooting to have sieving done. With speedy 64-bit sr2sieve running on speedy 64-bit Linux machines, a very rough estimate of the optimal sieve depth is P=25T, although that has not been determined yet. To give you an idea of the substantial resources it takes to properly sieve 300 k's at such a high n-range, I estimated that it will take 4-5 CPU years! It looks like Bruce will have no problem meeting that date himself but if we need help from the team, I'll post sieving reservations as needed. With the newer speedy sr2sieve and 64-bit systems, we will also look to do some additional sieving on drive 3 for n=600K-1M after completing the drive 1 sieving. I'm estimating optimal to be P=20T-25T there but it is only currently sieved to P=14T, which was optimal for 32-bit systems at the time. So come along and load up your machines as we attempt to complete drives 1 and 3 to n=600K by Oct. 31st! ![]() Gary |
