I wonder why run P-1 tests of mersenne number exponent 3 in 2019?

I have tried to fabricate test with b=1000000000 but it wasn't accepted.
Said that it is useless to run p-1 tests on mersenne primes. Maybe they fixed it? |

There seems to be a fair amount of chatter about 2025 being a solar storm peak that might have dire consequences for anything electronic. It's not the usual nut jobs spinning end-of-times baloney but some sciencey types as well.
I am wondering if I should build a big Faraday cage in my basement and move key electronic items there. I'm sure I have enough room if I move my ark over and take apart my bomb shelter. Or maybe thinking about Putin I should take the ark apart and keep the bomb shelter. It has happened much more recently than the one everyone seems to cite ( the one out west, telegraph lines, 1800s, blah blah blah ). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/March_...magnetic_storm |

It's nothing to worry about. We are simply entering the peak of solar cycle #25. Every 11 years it peaks, and we've been tracking it for 25 cycles now. Any sensationalism about it is just click bait.
https://www.solarham.net/progression.htm Being an Advanced Class ham (there isn't many of us left), I track the sun's antics daily, and have for decades. I admit this cycle is shaping up to be a really good one (active, in other words) for us hams, but Putin is a much bigger threat. |

And only the second one ever. It doesn't look too bad, tho ( I hope ).

I'm envisioning my package as going around by itself on an airport baggage conveyor and getting scanned every twelve hours because it's still there:

I will provide a little more detail:
The carrier is FedEx and the original delivery date is still in the future. Last week it was posted that it would arrive earlier than scheduled, by the end of the day on 3 May. Last night, the posting changed to, "No scheduled delivery date available at this time. Scheduled delivery: Pending" I've formed many theories that include, marking time because the vendor didn't pay for faster transport, driver shortage (possibly due to Covid), sitting out of sight in the truck, and lost, but since it was scanned being placed in the truck and not out, the twelve hour scan of the truck is now the tracking point. In any event, unless prompted, I'll only post a final closure message. |
