Default Expiration of user accounts

I was a an active mersenne.org participant a number of years ago and just tried my account login again with no luck. Is there a time limit on how long a user account stays active when not accessed?

If by "number of years ago" you mean before November 2008, then this is the problem:

1. Register a new user account login (Optional).

Your account login is the "container" that holds your preferences, your computer and work assignments info, and your productivity statistics. There is no limit to the number of computers you can have in your account.

Optional, but required to check your account details, computer status and performance statistics and to assign computers to your user ID, and if you joined GIMPS before November 2008, to link your PrimeNet V4.0 account(s) and transfer your CPU work credit.
Once you've created a V5 account and logged in, you can use this page to link the new account to the old V4 account.

Thanks for the info. I joined late '96 or early '97 so it definitely was V4.

The server died and had to be replaced. The upgrade to PrimeNet v5 happened at that time.

How about an old user since 1999?

Not that it matter so much, the amount of work I did back in those days (several computers 24/7) is probably what I can produce in one day today.
