Saturday 3/04 2007 Lunar Eclipse - Page 2

At 1/60 sec. exposure I get a nice round moon but no stars, at 1/10 sec. (I think) I get some stars but an over exposed moon.

Which one guys????

(I can't resolve any details.)

It's going to get darker, maybe I should over expose.

Go for no stars to start with but 1/10th when the moon gets dark.

I'm belatedly trying to work out where the first bite out of
the moon is taking place.

Bottom left is my guess. Let's see!

Sounds good. I've just realised I can change the exposure and quickly get snapping again.
At one frame every 10 secs. this is going to be one boring film.

That's more like it, my misses has just bought me out a cuppa!

No moon for me here, cloudy Holland as ever :(

- I'd go for no stars too, but I think you can leave the exposure as it is; iirc from the last time, the thing is still pretty bright.
You can always check on screen if you need to increase the exposure time. Is there a button on it to check for over-exposure?

Real time would hardly keep one's attention. This is where time lapse
photography comes into its own.

I used to have a missus. I pour my cider for myself these days.

With my poor eyesight I still can't see a bite into the moon.

It's at 1/50 sec. and slightly over exposed but still pretty circular. I can see each frame on the monitor. Frame 177, but nothing to see yet when I zoom in.
I'll see how the exp. goes as it changes colour.

It enters the umbra at 21:30 (GMT), hopefully things will be start to get more obvious then.
