Hello, Can someone help me configure my prime95.ini file to the schedule I'd like. I tried doing this according to the readme, but the examples there are limited and I think I'm doing it wrong.
Here's what I'm after. M-F 8:30-18:00 priority=1 All other times priority=5...except! W 0:00-1:00=sleep (I'm running a disk defragmenter at that time) Gee, it sounds a lot like the readme.txt example, except I'm not running it every night, just one night. If I had to guess, my second time statement isn't correct due to comma use. Here's the configuration I came up with to do this, but I don't think it works, I noticed prime95 sleeping when it shouldn't (sleeping Monday morning before 8:30) Time=1-5/8:30-18:00 Priority=1 DiskWriteTime=30 Time=1,2,4-7/0:00-8:30,1-5/18:00-24:00,6-7/0:00-24:00 Priority=5 DiskWriteTime=30 Time=3/1:00-8:30 Priority=5 DiskWriteTime=30 |

I am wondering why do you want to change priority? Why not running it at priority "1" all the time?
Anyways, if you want to pause Prime95 when specific program is running add "PauseWhileRunning=prog1" to your prime.ini So after attaching above line, I would try the following: Code:
PauseWhileRunning=prog1 // read undoc.txt for details Time=1-5/8:30-18:00 Priority=1 DiskWriteTime=30 Time=0:00-8:30/18:00-24:00 Priority=5 DiskWriteTime=30 Time=6-7/8:30-18:30 Priority=5 DiskWriteTime=30

That should work great, thanks! You're right, I don't really need to run at a higher priority. I ended up making my config like this,
Time=1-7/0:00-24:00 Priority=1 DiskWriteTime=30 PauseWhileRunning=defrag.exe |

If you don't want to change priority, then all you need is:
Code:
DiskWriteTime=30 PauseWhileRunning=defrag.exe

So, if I want a machine to not run prime95 during weekday work hours (because of fan noise), would this be right?
Code:
Time=1-7/17:00-24:00,1-7/0:00-8:00,6-7/8:00-17:00 |

My understanding is that if you include any Time= statement(s), then Prime95 will not run during any time-segment that is omitted from all such statements. - - - Quote:
Prime95, according to my understanding, interpreted "Time=1,2, ..." as meaning "Don't run on Monday or Tuesday ...", but because the preceding "Time=1-5/8:30-18:00" statement did specify a time segment on Monday and Tuesday, Prime95 started up at 8:30 on Monday. (IOW, Prime95 ignores any day number that is not followed by a "/" and time segment before the next comma.) B) In the above example, the second Time= statement includes each of the segments Saturday 0:00-8:30 and Sunday 0:00-8:30 twice -- first within "4-7/0:00-8:30", then again within "6-7/0:00-24:00". I think this may not cause any problem as long as the duplicated time segments are within the same Time=statement (and thus are specifying the same parameters -- "Priority=5" and "DiskWriteTime=30" in this case -- for each occurrence of those time segments). Does anyone know if the Time option is still valid currently? Would it go in prine.txt or local.txt currently ( windows ). It doesn't seem to be working for me.

From prime95 whatsnew.txt:
Code:
New features in Version 25.7 of prime95.exe
-------------------------------------------
1) Time= in ini files no longer supported. A during/else syntax can be
used instead for some ini file options.
