Congrats for that number.
But could anyone please revise the installation instructions of NFSNET?
I have problems configuring the GUI.
The gui does not a) find the client & b) does not update the progress bar?

I am the only one that's having problems with this program?

Thx

I wish that I *could* help, but I am not part of NFSNET.
Send email to Wacky.

2,1478L will finish sieving tonight.

Have you run NfsnetInit.exe yet? That's the first thing to do. After that, you can launch the GUI, select "NFSNet Client" as Visible and click on "Start Client".

_IF_ you've done all of this and still it is not updating, you've a problem

when I do the project of 5_311M_1, I also have this problem
but when I delete the directory of nfsnet-04146-x86-Win32
and install it again, there is no problem.

Yep.
The issue is that the nfsclient that fetches the assigment from the server is not in correct place as provided in the zip file.

I have to move it to P0 directory to launch. but then the progress bar is not updating.
I will check this asap when returning home.

?? On every system, the executables are in the top nfsnet installation directory. There is also a "projects" directory and a "processors" directory located there.

EXACTLY what structure do you have on your hard disk immediately after you unzip the distribution?

Have you run nfsnetinit?
Have you edited ANY of the distribution files in any other manner?

That folder structure looks ok.

So, have you run NfsnetInit.exe and registered the client?

I ran Nfsnetinit, booted the gui.
I did press Start Client and got the following:

Code:
18:08:54 NFSNET Client - $Revision: 1.17 $
18:08:54 Initializing...
18:08:54 Initialized.
18:08:54 Requesting assignment...
18:08:55 Received assignment ( REGISTER 0-0)...
18:08:55 Registering client with server.
18:08:56 Registration successful. Sleeping for 2 minutes...
18:10:56 Requesting assignment...
18:10:57 Received assignment ( REDIRECT 0-0)...
18:10:58 Requesting assignment...
18:10:58 Received assignment ( REGISTER 0-0)...
18:10:58 Registering client with server.
18:10:58 Registration successful. Sleeping for 2 minutes...
The gui has for the Nfsclient directory:
Code:
.\
and for the processor directory
Code:
.\processors\p0
The config file with info is located in:
Code:
.\processors

So far, so good. THat shows that you registered with the master server and were assigned to an operating pool. (I suspect that it would be "Bristol").
You then registered there. So, what happened at 18:13 ?
I would have expected you to get an assignment of one line.
If you procesed it properly, and returned the results, you would start getting longer assignments.
