I assume you mean 42.4 to 42.6 or rather 42.599999?

I guess you probably know that this will take a very long time, at least as much as needed to bring a 3 M range from 60 to 61 bits (for example 40-43M).
Anyway, I'd like to recommend to do that job in at least two stages (60 to 61 or 62 bits, then the rest to 64 bits). So you could help us to remove all 60 bits candidates in the range asap. |

I grabbed this range of exponents, dutifully put "FactorOverride=64" into my PRIME.INI file, and rebooted my machine. However Prime95 24.13 (2-JUL-2005 1500) appears to be ignoring this directive. It factored the first assignment all the way up to 2^68 before taking another. Am I doing something incorrectly? Thank you for your help.
p.s. Looking at the source code in the source23.zip file (which I know is old), the primeFactor function in commonb.c ignores FactorOverride unless the value is less than or equal 60.

You have to set use primenet to get/send work to No. Otherwise Factoroverride is ignored.

I will admit I must have skipped over that part. Bad news in the bomb disposal business. Manual: "Clip blue wire."
<done> Manual: "Before clipping blue wire, open yellow toggle." Oops. Too late. |
