I have an odd question for you LMHers. I am entering my exponents to trial-factor as "Factor=n", and doing this for each one in my range. I started by generating a list of prime numbers. However, here is where it is starting to get sticky/interesting. I noticed that there seems to be a limit to the size of my worktodo.ini file (~3000 exponents). However, there are about 28,000 exponents in my range, so I would like to be able to enter more exponents at a time. Does anybody know of a way to increase the size of the worktodo.ini file? If not, then I can simply enter them manually as I've been doing and insert a DC to occupy Prime95 when it is finished with that batch of factoring and therefore buy me some time to insert more. Thanks for your help.

Thom -
There are some files linked off the Mersenne.org status page (near the bottom). You want the "special program" (decomp.exe) and the data file nofactor.zip. Use these according to the instructions in decomp.zip's README to generate a list of factoring assignments which you can put in your worktodo.ini. P.S. Moderators - perhaps we could put startup info like this in a sticky... |

Uh oh! That unfortunately is the wrong way to go about it. Ack apocalypse beat me to it. Anyway here is the appropriate thread that gives instuctions. Maybe, tha could make it a sticky or put it in the welcome sticky.
http://www.mersenneforum.org/viewtopic.php?t=387 Make sure that you set the WellBehavedWork and the FactorOverride flags. |
