Hi,
i have some good news. 214519*2^1929114+1 is a probable prime. I have done internal checks with PRP and LLR on two different PCs and it is still prime. Already reported to primepages. Status can be seen here: http://primes.utm.edu/primes/page.php?id=76631 To make clear why the stats say 23 days since last prime here the story of this finding. The prime was found on a linux machine in my office. This is the only machine that i could let run all through my holidays. I left office on the 9th of december and today i had the first chance till then to get access to that machine. And i found the following: [Sat Dec 10 04:50:55 2005] 214519*2^1929114+1 is a probable prime. 12 hours after i left office to go to holidays the prime was found and so the machine calculated k=214519 pairs that are not needed anymore for over 20 days. @Citrix: You shouldn't have dropped your ranges. This one was in one of the ranges you originaly reserved and dropped later. Lars By the way did i already say:

Forgot to mention that this is the largest prime of 2006 so far, lets see who breaks our records.

Congrats to Lars and the PSP team for another semi-mega prime
321search aims to find something big for 2006 too ![]() It'll be interesting to see how the teams table changes with your new prime... |

Congrats Lars!
You were even a bit unlucky... as soon as you stepped out of the office the machine found you a prime! lol Anyways, this calls for an update to the mainpage, more specifically this line: "We have already found 11 large primes..."

I have updated
http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=2665 I am thinking of removing the main page, since it serves no purpose. I will redirect it to the forum. (Anyone up for designing me such a page?). I was hoping I could point it to the new server, once we get one. Any thoughts? Citrix |
