More RAM will increase the chance of finding a factor, however it won't guarantee finding larger factors. The 156 bits factor 'could' have been found with B1 = 1 822 463 and B2 = 873 979 349. One doesn't need a lot of RAM to find this one, just a lot of luck ;)

Also, runtime increases with more RAM simply due to the larger range.

My machine has 64 GB of which 57 is allocated for mprime.
