Default Question about PRP proof files

I recently changed computers, and my old computer was working on an exponent (113681593, and when I switched over to the new computer it finished the PRP, but the proof seems to have gotten lost. My question is, where is the proof file written to? I have found the residue file (3 GB or so), is this the proof? I moved these files to my current Prime95 folder, but Primenet still shoes no proof uploaded. Where should I look for the proof file? What happens if the proof file is lost?

Thanks

The power n proof file is normally generated, after completion of the PRP phase, from the 2n residues saved in the .residues file during the PRP phase. If there is no .residues file in the expected location (usually working directory unless you've configured prime95 otherwise) when the exponent completed PRP, or the .residues file contains too few residues, a proof file will not be generated.
You might be able to generate a proof file for a completed PRP, by resuming from the last .bu file if you still have one for the exponent, with the corresponding .residues file present, by manually adding a prp assignment to your worktodo file, while the application is stopped, and then continuing. Proof power will be lower due to some of the residues toward the end missing. Proof files are typically named p<exponent>.proof for prime95, and land in the prime95 working directory (unless configured otherwise). Even a power 3 proof is a considerable savings compared to an entire PRP DC, ~7/8. I think proof files are usually deleted after they are uploaded to the server.
If too many residues are missing from the relevant .residues file, or the .residues file is not found by the program, no proof generation may be possible. I've had no proof generated because a network share was unavailable for too long, or the residues file got split into two full size, with early residues in one and late residues in another, due to reconfiguration before thinking things through adequately. (What I probably should have done: Stop prime95 app, exit app, reconfigure using a text editor, MOVE .residues FILE!, check work, resume app, check for any errors.)

I copied all of the files relevant to this exponent to my prime95 folder, stopped prime95, added the exponent to my WorkToDo file, and restarted prime95. Prime95 complained that the backup files were bad, and it restarted PRP checking at 85% done. About 12 hours later, it finished and Primenet gave the following error: "This computer has already sent in this PRP result for M113681593". No proof file was uploaded and no files relevant to M113681593 are left in the prime95 directory. I guess this exponent will have to wait for someone else to re-test it.
