p95 v2.34 not writing save files during P-1 stage 2

I am using p95 v23.4 on a P4 1.6GHz running windows NT.
In my workdodo.ini is
[code:1]
Pminus1=61027,20000000,4290000000,0,0
[/code:1]
In my prime.ini is
[code:1]
DiskWriteTime=10
[/code:1]
Stage 1 was done using mprime v22.12 on a 120MHz pentuim
running Linux.

p95 is reading the file OK and reports stage 2 progress to the
console, but no save file is written after 10 minutes, and if I
log off while p95 is running then no save file is written either.

If I select File->Stop then File->Exit from the console window
then the save file does get written.

If I do stage 1 with p95 the save file does get written every 10
minutes during stage 1 (I haven't tested to see if it stops being
written once stage 2 starts yet).

OK, here is a repeatable test:

I install a fresh copy of p95 v23.4 and run it with this worktodo.ini
[code:1]Pminus1=61027,20000,4290000000,0,0
[/code:1]
Stage 1 takes only a few seconds and no save files are generated after
10 minutes of stage 2. Then I log off without shutting down p95, and
when I log back in there is no save file.

After the fresh install, did you make sure to set DiskWriteTime=10 in prime.ini again before that latter run?

[Later thought: Hmmm... Installation of v23.4 shouldn't affect any existing prime.ini file. Never mind. :-]

Yes I set DiskWriteTime=10 in prime.ini before the run, I just forgot
to note that in my message.

I checked the disk space available, I have about 25Mb in my home
directory.

Other save files (e.g. trial factoring, stage 1 P-1) are getting written
correctly, including times when I log off without stopping p95.

I have discovered that the save file is not being written even
if I use the Test->Stop then Test->Exit menu options while in
stage 2 P-1. In a previous message I said this worked, but in
fact it only works in the approx. 5 minute period between the
"Stage 1 GCD complete" message and the actual start of
stage 2.

I have re-installed v22.13 from www.mersenne.org/gimps/
and tried the same tests and the save files are written
correctly, so there is a difference between v22.13 and v23.4.
