I think that every platform without SSE2 instructions (being everything except the Pentium IV for now), has the best results with version 22.12.

All Pentium IV's run best on version 23.4.1.

To anyone : correct me if I'm wrong.

AFAIK, Athlon code should be the same in both version 22.12 and 23.4

Default What is better?

I have an AMD DURON 1.0 GIGA. I am running prime95 V.22.12
Is it the new version going to help me in anything? If I do the installation am going to lose what the prime95 already factored, or it better to is wait him complete the service totally for then to install?

AFAIK vers. 22.12 is the best for Athlons and Durons.
Vers. 23 hasn't modified the Athlon code.

What about the Celeron 2.2 GHz range? Any thoughts?

Not if you're doing trial factoring or stage 1 of P-1 factoring.

Installation of a new Prime95 version will not overlay or destroy any save files (provided one follows the instructions, of course!), so generally it can resume from where the previous version wrote the last save file.

However, verion 23.3 changed the format of P-1 save files created during stage 2 P-1. So if (A) your previous version was earlier than 23.3, (B) your previous version was in the middle of a P-1 stage 2 when you stopped it, and (C) you're installing version 23.3 or later, then when the new version resumes work on the P-1 stage 2, it will start over at the beginning of stage 2.

Just use the newest version on any CPU.

If the cpu uses SSE2 instructions you'll see a speedup, otherwise it shouldn't make any difference. George has said the non SSE2 code hasn't changed.
