On the exponent details page https://www.mersenne.ca/exponent/104866261 the assignment details at the very top are not updated anymore. The stated assignment is finished for some days now but the information about it is still shown. It says "last checked: 2021-07-11 03:54:02" on mouseover.

Thanks. The code that removed completed assignments wasn't working as intended (new assignments were being added but expired assignments weren't being removed). Should be working now.

Mathematicians and programmers are so... pedantic

That would be very useful when we report manual results many times per day, from multiple computers.
You can't post requests for mersenne.org in a mersenne.ca thread!

All pages on mersenne.org have an automatic timestamp in the footer similar to:
Quote:
Current time: 2021-07-18 18:26 UTC - Page rendered in 0.0421s
I have also just added a start-of-processing timestamp specifically at the top of manual results:

That is perfect, thanks. Exactly what I need.
But I am still holding a grudge on you, for those redneck dates... (including the fact that you only changed the boxes from text to date, and fixed it in ugly, unsortable, unorderable redneck format, making me click 7 times and scrolling through a calendar instead of just pressing a single key - firefox remembers the text boxes' content - and moreover, you didn't "fix" the text around, which still shows standard ISO8601 format, hahaha). Man, not all of us are Americans.

I'm not American either. I don't know what "redneck" format of date you're referring to, the dates are handled internally as YYYY-MM-DD, if you're seeing anything different that's an issue with your browser/andor configuration. You don't need to click 7 times anything for a date input, just type the date you want.

edit: Looking at a simple test page in Firefox and Chrome I see that Firefox is showing the US-style date of which you complain. Chrome presents the date in the proper way, as do Edge and Opera (see attached comparative screenshots). So don't blame me if it's your browser presenting things you don't like, submit a bug report to Firefox (or use a different browser).

edit2: You may be able to fix your Firefox to use your OS locale preferences, go to about:config and search for intl.regional_prefs.use_os_locales and set it to true.

Mr. Heinrich, can you visualize PRP, double-check and PRP-CF progress as well, besides TF progress?

The primality visualization at https://www.mersenne.ca/status/ll had some legacy "LL" labeling because that's all that existed at the time. I have changed the labels to be more generic.

Data for this visualization is pulled from here which doesn't differentiate between LL and PRP testing methods, and has no information on PRP-CF.

For PRP-CF, try https://www.mersenne.ca/prp.php

Nope. Old vs new, all browsers, windows 7, 10, and FF on ubuntu 20, and the last is what win 10 taskbar says. FF is set to follow the OS. Dates on other places/pages appear right. Moreover, the icon to kill the date only appears on win7 and ubuntu, not on 10.

Edit: and yes, I do need multiple clicks and edits, as the browser does not remember the content, as it did for the text box before. I mean, yeah, I know picking the date from a calendar is fancy, but you should let it as it was

The solution is in your hands: use a working browser.
Or if you habitually access the same preferred dates you can easily make shortcuts to the appropriate URL.
I stand by my decision to use date inputs for date values, and numeric inputs for numeric values.

I was looking https://www.mersenne.ca/exponent/22787 and noticed the ecm progress didn't match my intuition. I had pseudocoded a better estimate in #595 but never finished the coding.

Today I modified gmp-ecm to print t20, t25, t30, ...t60 (just needed to change a macro) then re-processed the B1/B2 table you provided.

I coded this up in python at ecm_progress/test2.py

I think it would be most clear to add a new column "Complete Combined" (or "Overall Complete" or maybe "overall") using this new estimate which more accurate combines the tXXX effort from all curves. This new estimate should also be used to calculate FacMiss (as (1/e)^combined)

For M22787 the current estimate suggests there's a 51% chance of missing a 40 digit factor, with the new code this drops to 6.8%. t45 decreases from 84% to 65% and a t50 estimate of 94% is now calculated.
