Actually. Does anyone know what the actual bug was in version 30.3b6? The issue I had on 30.3b6 was consistent failure on 896K on Core2 workers, (though different expectation vs actual numbers each time) but now on 30.6b4, I'm getting consistent failure on 16K on Core2 workers (again, different expectation vs actual numbers).

I'll go and try running 896K for a while again on 30.6b4 later tonight to see if I still get 896K failure.

I believe it would fail for FFT lengths that were multiples of 7.

Interesting. It would pass most of the test, but fails on 896K only on Core 2 workers before. Though now I'm hitting the same issue on different FFT so I guess that rules out the bug.

I just provided Computer Alliance with a bunch of screenshots and recording of the issue,

You’re welcome to send it back in for testing.
Note that the problem must be reproducible during testing for this to be considered a warranty fault.
If the problem only exists in your home environment, then the issue evidently lies outside of the CPU/Mainboard.

Sigh... guess I'm screwed with more gamble depending if they could see it or not....

You've ruled out OS/RAM/PSU/Prime95/temperatures.

One last test might be disconnect the graphics card and storage devices -- so that you have only one stick of RAM and Ubuntu on a USB stick plus motherboard and CPU, and see if it still fails. HTH. Good luck with the warranty.

BTW, did you install the CPU onto the motherboard? If so try re-seating it.

I can try resetting the CPU.

I can't take out the graphics card as 3600X doesn't have a GPU unfortunately.

I tried Ubuntu Boot stick before. But I'll physically disconnect the storage devices too and try that.

If you have access to another system and can network them together somehow, try setting up the problem system with Remote Desktop, TIghtVNC, SSH, whatever. (I usually go with 2, in case one becomes weird while I need remote access.) Test they're operational, can remote access. Then down it, remove the GPU temporarily, boot it again, and use remote access to test it.

Or swap GPUs. Maybe acquire a cheap used GPU just for diagnostics.
I've had flaky/dying GPUs make systems unstable, in mysterious ways, implicating other system components. In one case BIOS bootup system ram test. (Came that way from the "refurbished" seller, took me too long to see the pattern. Seller gave a discount, so not all bad.)
