You don't have to read every post. Only those in the areas that you have concern with. Doesn't getting a PhD require the know how to do research and find out about prior art? Chalsall mentioned that to you. I am sure that somewhere in Ken's reference pages you can find a lot of pointers on where to find some answers.
Use the forum's search function https://www.mersenneforum.org/search.php If that does not work because you are looking for words or numbers, etc. that it doesn't like finding, then use google to does a site specific search. Or maybe scan through thread titles in the proper area and open a few to scan. And BTW, why spin up a new thread for every little idea that you have that you think is novel and that hasn't been thought of before. Seriously one the first rules about forums in general is lurk more (read and observe). This is not a facebook group where posting "I know this has probably been answered before [but I am too lazy to look it up or don't know how], but xxxxxx?" is the norm. This is for math and comp sci (with fun stuff on the side. Someone with a user name with Dr in it will be expected to show rigor. There are plenty of folks here with higher degrees, but they don't flaunt it. As has been pointed out, consider if your scenario is the norm or not. Suggesting that something out of the norm be catered to comes across as demanding and self centered. I have asked specialty things before, but humbly and after having been around a while. |
