Is there a document that defines precisely the format of the worktodo.txt file used by mprime/Prime95? On the assignments page https://www.mersenne.org/workload/ there's a copy of the worktodo.txt file contents, in case ones file gets corrupted. But that is often slightly different to the contents in my worktodo.txt file, and I don't know what the differences are. The website shows ,3,1 on the end, but my worktodo.txt file does not have that. Code:
PRP=xxxxx,1,2,108399059,-1,76,0 // in worktodo.txt PRP=xxxxx,1,2,108399059,-1,76,0,3,1 // on website. |

"Welcome to the GIMPS gpu computing reference blog site map / table of contents." It implies it is all about GPUs, but actually it has history, CPUs and many other things. But when I first saw a pointer to that, I did I not bother reading past the first sentence, as I assumed it's about GPUs, and only GPUs Last fiddled with by drkirkby on 2021-05-07 at 21:35 |

Had been working on a motherboard with 32GB ram, prime95 allowed to use 12GB in P-1.
Switched the hard drive with Windows 10 installed to a different motherboard with only 6GB installed, and launched prime95 without thinking about the memory limit. That's a very quickly pretty hung system, after launching prime95 that goes straight into a P-1 in progress; responds to ping, but that's about it. And the reset button. The following local.txt line does not work so well when there's only 6144MB physical ram installed: Memory=12288 during 7:30-23:30 else 12288 s/12288/4096/g; better. I've had two instances of mprime 30.6 (on different computers) delete the AutoBench=0 setting without permission and run benchmarks in the past couple of days. One is not connected to PrimeNet. Not sure what's going on.

Both mprime on an EC2 instance and Prime95 on my own computer did not generate and upload a proof for this PRP-CF test: 11109569 The PRP-CF just before that one on the same EC2 instance did generate proof: 11199701 and the last PRP-CF test I did on my own computer about 1 month ago also generated a proof: 11059453 https://mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=26861 Last fiddled with by ATH on 2021-06-07 at 14:04 |
