I was fortunate enough to find a complete new fan assembly on eBay. It was marked as being for a 2080Ti. It should be here by this coming Saturday. The seller has an excellent reputation. I studied a blowup of the image. It matches what I have.

I could have ordered three new fans as a set. Caveat: I would not have received them until early April. They are in China. There was very little cost difference between the two choices. Based on my own past experience, I find any coming from China as being very suspect. They were listed as being 86mm in diameter, which is the same as mine.

In case the arriving cover does not mount the same, I can remove the fans and place them in the cover I have. While doing the fan removal, I found a redundancy. The fan closest to the mounting bracket has a single power connector on the board. The other two share a different connector by using a split cable. Half of the heat sink contact plate for the processor is under the single connector fan. The remaining part is visible.

There were many listings for 2080's. Very few were less than $1,000 USD. Some were as high as 1,400. I got the one I have for $690. Attached is an image of one fan I removed showing the sticker.

The new fan assembly arrived today. An exact match. Everything is nice and quiet now.

I am going to bubble this back to the top.

I noticed something today when I had the side cover off my 2080 system. The third fan, closest to the power connectors, was not running. The GPU is running at 60°C, give or take slightly. When I replaced the entire fan assembly two months ago, I saw this fan was on a power feed line of its own, separate from the other two.

Is this a normal operation at a lower temperature, or is this something to be concerned about?

Some GPU has thermal switch off, so they turn fan off below some temp. But I never seen only one fan is off. My GTX 2060 Super turn on and off fans regular.

I had the same problem with my old 560 Ti and always had to start one of the fans by hand. At some point it is finally broken off.

I removed the GPU earlier and what did I find? The third fan was not plugged into the circuit board. I remember it being difficult to plug when I replaced the entire fan assembly back in February. Obviously, I did not get it fully inserted. Today, I did not notice it until I had removed the fan shroud. My old dumb a**. All are spinning now. The running temperature dropped 4°C.
