It would seem it is a Ubuntu config (or install ?) problem. Try Google with "canberra-gtk-module". And a Google search came up with this: https://askubuntu.com/questions/2084...rra-gtk-module |

I'll keep going, but I seem to be barely keeping up with the rate new PRPs arrive. Chris |

I have some machines that are not working well with my current ECM efforts. Perhaps I will engage them in Primo certification, but if you and others are working there, I would hate to tread upon others' work. And, I would have to work toward another interesting score. I like the current, nice round one. |

Yes, < 3000. Dyslexia rules OK.
My work will be appearing as Anonymous since Code:
curl -F cert=@`ls primo-*.out` http://factordb.com/uploadcert.php I work on the principle that there's no limit to what can be done if you don't care who gets the credit. My script reads the smallest 100 PRPs in factordb of 300+ digits and proves them, then repeats. So if you keep above than range you won't clash with me. Chris |

Primo certificates are the only thing I have been concerned about for credits. All the rest I send without logging in. I'm playing elsewhere right now, but if I do decide to play with Primo some more, I'll keep in mind where you are working.

I want to get a prime certificate for a 3000 digit number by running Primo. I am using AWS Ubuntu and essentially have an empty machine. I am a novice at installing software, but have successfully tar'd the Primo software. I understand that Primo has an "X11 style" GUI, which I have never used, so I need help on the necessary steps.
Any references or help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Lewis |

I updated to Windows 10 2004, and now Primo won't run. I get "Gtk-WARNING **: (IP Address): cannot open display:". Anyone know how to fix that?
EDIT: I tried something suggested on SuperUser, but now I'm getting this: "cannot open display: 192.168.1.1 fe80::3e90:66ff:fedb:7241 fec0:0:0:ffff::1:0" EDIT: I fixed it. Just had to run "export DISPLAY=:0" from the Bash prompt. Last fiddled with by Stargate38 on 2021-06-01 at 23:24 |

For reference, it is a bit more complicate with WSL2.
There, you have to execute export DISPLAY=$(grep -m 1 nameserver /etc/resolv.conf | awk '{print $2}'):0.0 and configure Xming/Xlaunch (if you use this as your X server) to have "no access control". Otherwise, the instance will not connect. This is because WSL2 will have its own network adapter and because of this its own IP address. |
