Default SEE the Intel inside LOL

[QUOTE=outlnder]Why would you want to put your valuable motherboard and CPU into a piece of metal or plastic. I would think you would want them out where everyone could see the integral parts and marvel at your creation.

It's also so much easier to replace things that wear out or break. If I had to purchase a case everytime I bought a new CPU, motherboard and stuff, my apartment would be full of them. [QUOTE]

Re: "see the integral parts and marvel"

Who said the plastic case had to be the bland beige. Get a clear perspex case like mine from Jeantech. It is visible from all sides BUT does not collect atmospheric dust accumulating on the board from being exposed. The only disadvantage is you don't get the RFI electromagnetic screening that a metal box provides.

Also, a case is a long term investment and will probably last you through 2 or 3 systems inside it. You don't need to scrap it just because the old insides are obsolete. Anyway you should be using your slow systems for trial factoring :-)

I tried this out. It didn't seem to make any difference! It also generated a lot more noise.

Is it possible to move this fan to the front-bottom of the case? Is there some mounting place for it? This is really the best option you can get in ATX box (air cooled).

What about thermal gell..... Check that. Air flow is also something to look at.
