I've finished the last of the 24.12 optimizations and again need to do some special benchmarks on machines I don't have access to. Specifically:
P4 - 128K cache P4 - 1M cache P4 - 2M cache Pentium M (all types) AMD64 - 256K cache AMD64 - 512K cache One benchmark from each CPU type should suffice. Please download ftp://mersenne.org/gimps/p95tst.zip. Unzip it in a temporary directory and create a prime.ini with "FullBench=1" and "AllBench=1". Run prime95 and do Options/Benchmark. Send the results.txt file to me or post it here. Then delete this test version of prime95.exe. This data will let the final v24.12 prime95 select the fastest FFT implementation for each L2 cache size. |

Stopped the benchmark at 16M FFT, since it started thrashing.
Side conditions: XP SP1, 256 Mb RAM, Compaq Evo laptop. ric |

Pentium-M 1.5 GHz
I forgot the name of this type - it's the one before Dothan. I'm not sure if there was one after Banias... |

Thanks!! I still need:
a 256K AMD64 one more 1MB P4 (to break a tie in a couple of discrepancies) a 2MB P4 and Pentium M a 128K P4 |

george,
here's the results from my 2.1 ghz pentium-m (dothan) w/2mb cache. fullbench=1. Last fiddled with by delta_t on 2005-06-14 at 03:10 |

I assume you need the P4 Celeron w/128K cache benchmark, since that is the only P4 I know of with 128K cache.
These results are from the same baffling 2.8Ghz Celeron we discussed earlier, except now it is in a motherboard with much better memory performance (512Mb Dual Channel DDR). |
