Okay, I have not yet deleted anything so I'll try that later.

I was asking of uploading on a personal server for testing purposes (manual verification e.g.).

Sure. One way is to upload the proof to Dropbox or Google Drive and send the share link. I'll do a verify to check that it passes.

To everyone, please save your gpuowl proof files to hopefully upload at a later date.

I have ~25GB in my gpuOwl directories of save files. How much will each -proof generate? What parameter is needed for -proof for wavefront PRP work?

Quote:
-proof [<power>] : enable PRP proof generation. Default <power> is 8. Use 8 - 10.

Quote:
-cleanup : delete save files at end of run
I will use that switch too.

gpuowl -h will show you all the options, including -proof. I believe the default is 8, which has the lowest disk space requirement.
Run once, save to disk, read as useful: gpuowl or gpuowl-win -h >help.txt

The proof dile that you will upload is about 125MB for a power=9 proof at the wavefront.
For power=10 at in the 215,000,000 area you looking for a file about 300MB in size.

And ~27GB of temporary space?

Yes, 1024 residues each about 27MB for his M215xxxxxx test.

Once he has the proof file safely saved somewhere, those can be deleted.

27GB is pretty scary -- that's why gpuowl and prime95 default to power=8 which uses one-quarter of the temporary disk space.

I'd be glad if we could have the opportunity to volunteer on using higher proof exponents (of course with a reasonable limit) as soon as it gets standard for those who have tons of HDD space to spare to reduce server CPU time or at least a prover's CPU time.

Last fiddled with by kruoli on 2020-07-15 at 20:29 Reason: Added limit. Grammar.

As soon as there is a version of Prime95 that can run the verification, I would be willing to test it and run some verifications. It can be hand generated assignments and results.

Or 43. GB at 100Mdigit (power 10); ~128. GB at 1Gbit. Each working instance.
Vs. 10.8 at 100Mdigit, power 8, 32. GB at 1Gbit power 8.
