This certainly has some eye-popping graphics. It's almost, but oh-so-close, to being realistic; the closest I've seen.
It will be available on many platforms in 2021, but the Playstation 5 might get the first titles. CES 2021 could be interesting. They've sure come a long way since we played SpaceWar in the 1960s !!! Here is the teaser. It has quite a lot of blah-blah at the beginning but really gets going about 1/3 the way thru: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qC5KtatMcUw Last fiddled with by tServo on 2020-05-14 at 16:11 |

I remember many years ago Nvidia said they would be able to render in real-time movie quality graphics. Pixar laughed in their general direction. They're not laughing now, but instead are using the tech in their own production workflows... |

I just stumbled across this. The quality of detail in the video is incredible. Facial tones and details still seem a bit off. Too smooth.
I read something a while back which said actor James Dean would be rendered into a new movie, sometime in the future. I suspect there were a lot of legal and ethical hurdles to jump to do this. |

The CGI Masters of the Universe have taken this idea to the innermost circle of hell. It no longer matters who someone was or what they did. If they are digitally resurrected decades after their demise, people will see their CGI avatars selling toothpaste or whatever and think either "I wonder who that used to be" or "I'll bet they never would have done this while they were alive." And yes, Mr. Cloyd, legends will die. The very idea of legends will die. And it will be you, and those of your ilk, that killed it. |

The bats look janky, as do quite a few of the other physics like some of the falling rocks and the way the character moves at times, but the demo isn't really about that IMO. Shame it's owned by Epic, the Oracle of the game dev world.

Didn't "Star Wars" do this with Carrie F. and Peter Cushing ? Nimoy's son is discussing bringing Spock back. |

So if you (the collective you) don't like it then don't pay for the crap they churn out. Just ignore it. Then it will soon die out from lack of funds. So yes, audience approval does matter. They need people to pay for it. |
