The question is in the title.
Ok, there is a bit of clarification perhaps needed here: within the “Blogorrhea” forum, there are several users who have subfora. Some of these contain relatively useful information (kriesel, EdH), others contain some interesting takes on stuff (LaurV) and some just contain literally the same thing, over and over again (I think it’s obvious which one I’m referring to here). And there is a blank forum as well. Based on these observations I’m not really sure how one gets a forum in this section. |

If this post doesn't get you one, try a PM to Xyzzy.

Initially, that area was created solely for the second use case - hence its name. |

@Batalov: Thanks, that answers my question.
@EdH: My intention never was to get my own section, but I suppose given what people do there, it's probably not a bad section to have. The question is what would I put there... |

I misinterpreted your interest. Sorry 'bout that! I asked for mine so I could deposit things I'd like access to when I need to refer to them.

I've wondered this myself, and similar to EdH's reason I decided I would use it only for data & musings that weren't likely (or yet) usable to anyone else, but that I'd like to refer to later. For example, I no longer recall what changes I've made to my personal factmsieve file's parameters section. I could compare to an original, but that doesn't tell me why I made the changes, or what tests I did to see if the change was faster.
I really appreciate EdH's "how I installed..." series, even though I haven't followed any of them to do a personal install. Next time I build a fresh machine, I expect to use them. |

We here completely agree with you, and that is how we got our section too (i.e. by asking, not that the second reason given by Serge would not apply to us, but fact is that we got it by asking, so it can be done. Xyzzy may add one for you next days).

In the end I did send a PM to Xyzzy and he was happy to oblige with a blog section (hence the coloring in my name). Working (slowly) on a guide on Python to assist those working on Colab...

I had noticed, but did not comment there. Looking forward to your posts, as always. . .
