Default Prime95 fails on same workers

Prime95 in Windows and mprime in Linux fails (very fast, on first test, "rounding was 0.436..." error) every time on small FFTs on same workers (#11 and #12). Is it safe to assume that CPU is faulty?

P.S. New PC build, Ryzen 3700x. Experiencing BSODs with different codes in Windows and full system freeze on Linux (different SSDs), so it has to be hardware problem.

Did you build it yourself? The processor and heatsink might need reseating

What are system temperatures say? Use lm-sensors on Linux.

Have you tested the memory, one stick at a time in slot 0. And then run memtest?

Is the PSU a good one? Is it powerful enough for all the components, including any graphics card installed?

You might have a duff motherboard.

You might have to up the CPU voltage by a miniscule amount.

I presume you are not overclocking.

I am not familiar with Ryzen setup. In the BIOS, are there voltage offsets for AVX operations? They may need adjusting.

So yeah, if someone finds this thread in google: if prime95 fails small FFT on same workers in different environments (windows/linux) it is very probable that CPU has bad core.
Disabling core #6 fixed bsods (of course I've tried to disable another core leaving #6 working in case it's a problem with insufficient power -- same bsods, prime errors and freezes).
Returned bad CPU, got new one. No more errors, everything works like it should.
