There seems a new Kynea: (2^852770+1)^2-2 found by Ryan Propper.

Base 40320 is complete to n = 10k. Ten primes found:
Code:
(40320^1+1)^2-2 (40320^2-1)^2-2 (40320^3-1)^2-2 (40320^6-1)^2-2 (40320^22+1)^2-2 (40320^28+1)^2-2 (40320^241+1)^2-2 (40320^260+1)^2-2 (40320^6582-1)^2-2 (40320^9492-1)^2-2 |

Both are prime. The base is completed to n=100000 and released.

Base 394:
Found this today: (394^49500-1)^2-2 is prime, 256955 digits Used pfgw64 4.0.0 pfgw64 -tc -q"(394^49500-1)^2-2" PFGW Version 4.0.0.64BIT.20190528.Win_Dev [GWNUM 29.8] Primality testing (394^49500-1)^2-2 [N-1/N+1, Brillhart-Lehmer-Selfridge] Running N-1 test using base 3 Running N+1 test using discriminant 11, base 2+sqrt(11) Running N+1 test using discriminant 11, base 3+sqrt(11) (394^49500-1)^2-2 is prime! (9432.4430s+0.0303s) This was the 2nd lowest base without any Carol-Prime. I will continue to n=50k. |

Congrats! :-) I don't see a reservation for this. Are you testing both the Carol and Kynea sides to n=50K ? Were there any Kynea primes for n>198 ? Last fiddled with by gd_barnes on 2019-10-09 at 05:09 |

I'm always testing both sides, and there was no other prime than that.
Here's another one: (1442^40757+1)^2-2 is prime, 257500 digits tested up to n=41k with only n= 1, 5 & 66 for Kynea-side. |
