Ah I see, I was misunderstanding what a unit meant.

Would be interesting to see a Prime95 benchmark on these with 12-channel RAM.

Anyone benchmarked the AMD Epyc servers with 8-channel RAM?

I have with 6-channel, but not 8-channel.

Turbo boost is bullhockey, you almost never achieve full boost and it evaporates pretty quick as soon as you start using it, at least with air cooled.

I don't even care about turbo boost any more, all I care about is base speed.

I don't think anyone is talking about the processor in question running with air cooling.

If you're buying unlocked parts then turbo is irrelevant. For locked parts I guess yes you should expect the base freq, but many-core Xeons will routinely run at several ratios above base with all cores active on normal cooling.

So, I'm not expecting to see any cascade lake-AP chips anytime soon. Intel might only be offering the 400w 56 core honker on their own servers.
