Sometimes one runs across number sequences that have meaning, but are not mathematical sequences.
Here is an example: 1, 5, 3, 6, 2, 4 This is a cylinder firing order commonly used in 6 cylinder inline engines. It is a finite sequence. Some people can rattle it off in their sleep or would respond Pavlovianly "6-2-4" if someone said "1-5-3". So, the idea is to present sequences of numbers that have no direct mathematical meaning in their original usage. The other people get to guess what the meaning is. It has to be a sequence an not just a number. (i.e. 57 for the Heinz varieties does not count, but 24-36-19 as a safe combination of note in a movie would). Here is the first one (the older crowd may guess it easier): 7-3-6-5-0-0-0 DO NOT pm me. Post guesses here (please spoilerize the guess.) I will confirm when we have the correct answer. Once we do, somebody else post a new sequence. If you find that the answer is very easy, wait and give others a chance to play. This one is a little bit of a cheat. It takes some interpretation. |

The problem with this thread is that in actuality it is more difficult to suggest any obscure sequence than to find the answer,
A google search of 8675309 takes 0.44 seconds. A search for 8 5 4 9 1 7 6 3 2 takes 0.66 seconds Sorry! Last fiddled with by rudy235 on 2019-04-04 at 05:56 |
