This is also a problem associated with the Christian rapture, where people believe God will take them up right before the last 7 years of existence for the remnant. So the danger would be related to the time of day and whether or not the drivers are Christians.

You'll also have to watch for planes falling from the sky on the first day.
Planes travel at hundreds of miles per hour, unless they're small. So dodging is out of the question. But you could hide in a large building, like a mall.

And speaking of roads, how long would they remain driveable? Would weeds and shrubs start growing in the asphalt after the first year? Also, after you've broken into the cars, wouldn't the gas in them have expired if they haven't been used for years?
Yeah, I've heard gas starts decomposing if it isn't mixed for a long time. Cars can have this problem if they haven't been driven for a while.

I think I could last for a few years. I doubt I'll have the resources to find a new Mersenne prime, but if I get insanely lucky and do succeed, I'll carve it into Mt. Rushmore for the next civilization that lands on Earth.
The short answer for me is I'd become psychotic once I ran out of medication, and the lack of routine might have me stopping my medication early from forgetting long enough that I become too sick to remember I need it at all. I've had situations where I've missed my meds once, and I was an angry bastard because of it.

If I had time to prepare, assuming a reality where I'm not mentally ill, I might be able to research various things. I'd definitely learn to cook in the time given to me, my dad's grill would get tons of use. There's a farm nearby, with cows, so I'd have milk. I wouldn't want to kill the cows unless I had a way to make the meat last a long time. They might have chickens too. If they don't, I know where to find some, so I'd use my shitty driving skills(whole different story, I don't drive because I'd rather be poor than guilty of manslaughter) to drive somewhere to get some.

I'd want to move to someplace large where I could build choke points to guard against large animals getting in. Also, a large structure like a mall could protect against the weather, especially if you're willing to maintain things. Probably multiple ways to protect a building from deteriorating, especially if nobody cares about the appearance. If I could get to the roof, I could put stuff in place, not sure what, to prevent water from accumulating.

Not a good place to end, but I'm not getting anything out of posting this, so I'm going to stop here. :)

Have a nice day. :)
