When I write latex in a post, it looks sketchy compared to other peoples maths in post, evidenced in this thread. Can someone tell why? I click the TEX button above the text pane and write between the tags

\text{} around normal text with spaces in the braces might help. Or even using multiple TEX tags to avoid the text part.
