Default my tex don't look good

When I write latex in a post, it looks sketchy compared to other peoples maths in post, evidenced in this thread. Can someone tell why? I click the TEX button above the text pane and write between the tags

\text{} around normal text with spaces in the braces might help. Or even using multiple TEX tags to avoid the text part.

The TEX tags are not used much any more.

Instead, use a backslash followed by an open bracket before your TeX
and a backslash followed by a close bracket after it.
If you want your TeX displayed on a separate line, use square brackets instead of ordinary ones after the backslashes.
