Apparently some people(s) were batch-adding a huge amount of "useless" composites (for instance, thousands of consecutive 78-digit numbers starting with 8444.......). Running fdb_auto.pl to get rid of the wall at C78, and hopefully we can clear to at least C85 soon.

This is not the first time a large batch of (useless) numbers are added to the factordb. If this starts to happen more often it might be a good idea to restrict the adding of new numbers to one each minute for unregistered users.

It would be favorable and even more favorable would be a setting or tool that would allow checking numbers without creating them if they're not in DB.
Although, I doubt it will happen, since there are still bugs (like submitting factors to PRPs doesn't turn them composite and others) not getting fixed for a very long time. Last fiddled with by DukeBG on 2018-10-30 at 11:59 |
