The link seems to equate vCPUs to cores. But actually 2 vCPUs = 1 physical core with hyperthreading. To verify this, open an SSH session from the Compute Engine dashboard that lists your virtual VMs, and in the command line type: grep "^core id" /proc/cpuinfo | sort -u and count the number of lines that are output. That will tell you how many cores you actually have. It's half the number of vCPUs. |
